Effective Plantar Wart Removal In Adelaide

Discovered one or more warts on your feet? We understand how frustrating, uncomfortable, and painful a wart can be—which is why our experienced team of podiatrists offer tried and tested solutions for wart removal in Adelaide.

Foot or plantar warts (also called ‘verruca’) can appear suddenly and seemingly without warning, and while they can sometimes disappear on their own they can also linger on in which case they may require removal by one of our podiatrists.

What are the signs and symptoms of a plantar wart?

Commonly mistaken for a corn, plantar warts can often be distinguished by one or more of the following features:

  • A grainy or hard bump or growth on your feet.
  • Small black dots at the centre of a bump or growth. These are blood vessels, a common characteristic of plantar warts.
  • Foot pain when walking—localised around the wart itself.
  • Thickened skin and callousing in a small area under your foot.

Warts can affect people of all ages but are especially common in children. If they have occurred before then you may be susceptible to having them reappear again. They are actually a virus so when we are run down or sick, we become more susceptible to developing them.

Warts are also highly contagious through direct contact (touching a wart itself) or indirect contact (using items that have been in direct contact with a wart)—so avoid touching them and practice good hygiene as much as possible.

The good news however is that our team at Rose Park Podiatry offer several effective solutions for wart removal.
